about the center: our mission

The overall mission of the Ohio Cooperative Development Center (OCDC) is to enhance economic development in rural Ohio by establishing new cooperatives and strengthening existing cooperatives. The cooperative development program has been implemented statewide. However, the critical needs in the 29 Appalachian Ohio counties is a primary regional focus of OCDC's efforts. The Center applies cooperative development to foster economic viability and advancement of disadvantaged producer groups and communities. These groups include small and beginning producers, women and ethnic minority individuals.
